ABOUT
DUNQUE started with one simple question:
What happens when basketball is seen through a different cultural lens?
Inspired by the word “Dunk,” the project combines basketball culture with diasporic influences, Islamic aesthetics, street culture, and contemporary visual art.
Through photography, custom jerseys, film, installation, and object design, familiar symbols are reimagined and placed into new contexts.
This is not a fashion project.
It is an ongoing visual study exploring how different identities can exist within the same image.

01 – FOUNDATION
Every project begins with a question.
DUNQUE started as an exploration of how basketball could be reimagined through diasporic culture and Islamic aesthetics. Before any object existed, the project lived through sketches, references, and visual experimentation.
02 – VISUAL LANGUAGE
Before creating physical work, I explore compositions, materials, silhouettes, and atmosphere through digital concept imagery. These studies are not final artworks, but tools to shape the project’s visual identity.
03 — DESIGN PROCESS
The custom jerseys form the visual foundation of DUNQUE. Each design explores the balance between contemporary sportswear and cultural references through graphics, typography, embroidery, and material choices.
04 — OBJECT STUDIES
Everyday basketball objects become carriers of new meanings when placed in unfamiliar contexts.
05 — PROCESS
Behind every final image is a long process of testing, prototyping, documenting, and refining. This archive collects fragments of that journey.
06 — IN DEVELOPMENT
DUNQUE is an evolving body of work. New photographs, installations, objects, films, and exhibitions will continue to expand this archive over time.
